Elizabeth Hoey

Elizabeth Hoey, a beloved wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on February 28th and Valley View Center in Goshen NY. She was a long-time resident of Bethpage NY. Elizabeth was born in Hell’s kitchen NYC to James and Elizabeth Mctiernan. Elizabeths 8 siblings are: Patricia Moreno, Kathleen Nolan (deceased), Margaret Nadramia (deceased), Maureen Lucas, Joan Carvajal, James Mctiernan (deceased), Daniel Mctiernan and Patrick Mctiernan.

Elizabeth married Robert Hoey (deceased) on February 14th 1955. Together they had three children. Peter (wife Marion), Elizabeth (Betty Ann) Lange (husband Todd Lange, and Doreen Bowe (husband Thomas Bowe). Elizabeth’s grandchildren are Christopher Lange, Michael Lange, and Ryan Morris. Her great grandchildren are Maeve, Caden and Gannon Lange.

After Robert’s passing Elizabeth had a longtime companion in Bernie Mcgovern and was graciously accepted into the family by his children and grandchildren.

Elizabeth has many in-laws, nieces and nephews that she truly loved and enjoyed spending time with. If you were lucky you could refer to her as “Crazy Aunt Betty”. Elizabeth made many very special Christmas memories for family.

Elizabeth sometimes tended bar at Susan’s Pub in Bethpage and was a good friend to many. She was always ready to hop in the car for a trip to bingo, or a casino.
