James H Williams, 83, of Monroe Township, formerly of Bronx, New York passed away on July 25, 2022, at the Chelsea at Forsgate in Monroe.Services will be on Saturday, July 30, at Congregational Church of God, 1889 Amsterdam Avenue, Harlem, NY, as follows, visitation is from 10 am to 11 a.m., and the funeral is at 11 a.m.
Interment is at Fairmount Cemetery, Newark on August 1. Services are entrusted to Mickeys Sunset Funeral Services, 1879 Amsterdam Avenue New York, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to United Negro College Fund in his name.
James retired from the Fire Department of New York in 2004 after working over 20 years and had been a member of the Fountain Spring Baptist Church in the Bronx, NY. He was an avid sports lover, always rooting for his Mets, Knicks and Giants. Surviving are his daughters Cynthia Williams and Yolanda Weaver (son-in-law Solomon); his son James Tyrone Williams (daughter-in-law Rhea); his sisters Estelle Williams and Rosetta Bright; his 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
My sincerest condolences to my cousins Cynthia, James, Yolanda and family on Uncle Jame's passing. He was a beautiful soul and loved dearly by us all. He will be truly missed.
