About This Site

This site was inspired by my mother's passing. She passed away in June of 2007. Being a web developer, I thought of honoring her life by creating a website about her. But I was too sad and could not concentrate then.

Fast-forward six years later, I have gradually accepted her loss. I also have downtime to finally create an online memorial for her. But since then, I lost my grandmother, an uncle, an aunt, a cousin and a couple of friends. So the idea came to me, instead of creating one site, why not create a site that can pay tribute to other people as well?

That is why YouMattered.com was born.

It's a cliche to say that time goes so fast, but it's true. As we live our lives, we experience birthdays, graduations, new jobs, business ventures, promotions, weddings, new babies and deaths. Whether you choose to focus on yourself, your family, your career or all of them, in the end, it boils down to what legacy you will leave behind.

When my mom passed away, I was one of her legacies. I witnessed her life as a mother. She was a great mom and her life mattered!

I want to honor her life and share her story to the world.
